Welcome to Alum Rock FC Sports Club

The Alum Rock Youth Soccer League (ARYSL) Recreational Program is designed to provide children of all ages and skill levels with a fun, safe, and supportive environment where they can learn, grow, and develop a lifelong passion for the game of soccer. Whether a player is stepping onto the field for the very first time or has participated in several seasons, our recreational program focuses on creating positive experiences while teaching the fundamental skills of the game.

Our recreational program welcomes all players regardless of experience or ability. No prior soccer knowledge is required. Every child has the opportunity to participate, improve, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team within a positive, family-oriented community.

Each season, players are randomly assigned to balanced teams to encourage fair competition and maximize player development. In accordance with ARYSL's commitment to equal participation, every player is guaranteed to play at least 50% of each game throughout the season, ensuring that every child has meaningful opportunities to learn through game experience.

At ARYSL, we believe that player development extends far beyond winning games. Our coaches emphasize age-appropriate instruction while helping players develop technical skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, discipline, and respect for teammates, coaches, referees, and opponents. We strive to create an environment where children are encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, and celebrate personal improvement.

Throughout the season, recreational teams may also have the opportunity to participate in local recreational jamborees, festivals, and Fun Days, where players experience a tournament-style atmosphere while continuing to enjoy friendly competition in a fun and encouraging environment. These events allow players to meet new teams, make lasting friendships, and further develop their love for soccer.

The Recreational Program serves as the foundation of the Alum Rock Youth Soccer League, preparing players for years of enjoyment in the sport while also providing a pathway for those who may eventually wish to pursue higher levels of competition through the club's Competitive Program.
